What are Otome Games? 'Otome' means maiden in Japanese. So basically, Otome games are visual novels that mainly targets the female audience (otome gēmu means Maiden Game). It's pretty much a graphic novel in digital form. They invite the reader to enjoy a story that usually consist of a series of choices throughout the game.

The choices you make change the direction in which the game is going while you are romancing handsome men. Here we discuss our favorites and least favorites, suggest other games for our fellow maidens and even help each other out when we get stuck on a certain route. Spoiler Tag: !Snape kills Dumbledore!.Rate Ranking according to VNDB.This is not the voting score ranking.VNDB doesn't only look at the vote stats because the rating number is different from the voting score.Ratings may be affected by fan patches in other languages such as Chinese, Spanish, Russian and so on.Ratings are probably also affected by number of people that played the game so older games have higher chances of making the list.NOT including games that had either a full fan patch in English or localized by official companies. It doesn't surprise me that Ken ga Kimi topped the list! It did surprise me that Hakuoki's FD Zuisouroku didn't make the list.

Out of the list, I've played Clock Zero - I really disliked the common route. The stupid questions makes it really hard to skip too:( Bloody Call - It's been too long my memory is so blurry that I need to replay this XD, I only remember that I really liked the twins Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari - I love the CG, the story is a bit too messed up for me Koezaru wa Akai Hana - I have very mixed feelings about this game Brothers Conflict - I like that it's fluffy but going through it can be very troublesome because of the stats component, I still enjoyed it tho but don't have the time to complete many routes. Amnesia Later - I still need to play more of this. Kent's route was really short tho. Wand of Fortune - I only got through two routes, the stat raising was really energy and time consuming even tho I really liked this game Juuzaengi Engetsu Sangokuden - I didn't like the game, even tho the CG was pretty and I love the cat eared character designs. Ones I really want to play: Ken ga Kimi Shinigami to Shoujo Glass Heart Princess (This is already in my backlog.I'll probably play this within this year) Moujuutsukai to Ouji-sama/Beast Master & Prince Garnet Cradle Watashi no Real wa Juujitsu Shisugiteiru Uta no☆Prince-sama Zettai Kaikyuu Gakuen I think any of the 18+ ones might be fair game for MangaGamers to localize?

If Aksys could license from Hunex like MangaGamers did, we might get Arcana Famiglia The psp games won't get a localization just because it's old. It's too bad because I think some of the older PSP games had good reviews. Rejet + Broccoli games are less likely to get localized even tho the fanbase really want to play Uta no Prince + Ken ga Kimi. Ohhh, Gakuen Tokkyuu Hotokenser!

All my dreams in one place, SUPER SENTAI OTOGE. (Please look at the. Everyone even gets a transformation sequence.) It's a game I have to replay sometime because I didn't really read it properly, but I remember it being a fun time. I feel like it might get a chance at getting localised, since TwoFive had another one (Yo-Jin-Bo) that did.? It's pretty old by now, though. I haven't really touched any of the others sans Kamigami no Asobi, but I largely watched the anime/read the manga for that. (The anime gets points with me just for them including transformation sequences for the guys.) If the opportunity allows I'd like to check out Beastmaster and Prince, and maybe Clock Zero, Ken ga Kimi and Watajuu.

One summer’s day you’re being served tea in your vast gardens, as you do, when you have a sudden heart palpitation and pass out. You wake up in the hospital and are told that you have a rare disease called Glass Heart Syndrome. If you can’t strengthen your heart against tokimeki, you won’t live out the year.

Glass Heart Princess seems like a lot of fun from what I saw of it, but console woes. (What's the difference between the vote ranking vs. Rating ranking?) I didn't know Glass Heart Princess was up so high.

  • Glass Heart Princess: Platinum: Available at: Japanese PlayStation Portable version at Play-Asia.com for US$ 119.99 » Description. The protagonist is beautiful, smart, and good at sports. She is the perfect daughter of a respected family. However, she is suddenly stricken with a bizarre disease called 'Glass Heart Syndrome'.
  • Glass Heart Princess also has a very good balance of romance, drama and comedy. Each route is light-hearted and fun, but when the time comes, it will strike with intense, action-packed scenes and adorable romantic moments.

Real happy WataJuu is. I have never heard of 25. Some titles I've heard but have no idea what the summaries are. I am halfway through Ken ga Kimi (though switching over to C:R fandisc now). The only ones I've finished on the list are Clock Zero, WataJuu (13), and Amnesia Later. Ken ga Kimi: I entered with overhyped expectations, unfortunately, so I've had to scale those back and adjust with each route.

Production values are lovely but I had the impression the story or character development would brush epic-tier, for once in an otome game. Of the 3/6 routes I've played, it'll probably end up a recommend barring absurd landmines that only offend me (otherwise I'd have heard of it already). Clock Zero: Overhyped by the time I got to it. The common route is a chore and that's with 'Skip to Next Choice or Unread Text' functionality added in.

First commercial otome game I burned out on. WataJuu: An absolute favorite and would recommend to anyone and everyone. It's good comedy, good drama, good romance-a bundle of quality, especially because IT'S THE ONE FREE GAME ON THIS LIST. Amnesia Later: It's a nice fandisk. Having the heroine participate in the conversations (after the events of the main story) improved matters greatly. I've been curious about Chou no Doku, Shinigami to Shoujo, Glass Heart Princess, and BeastMaster & Prince. (I could play these in Japanese, but as far as localization chances,) MangaGamer's presence makes Chou no Doku's chances plausible, now.

I don't think Shinigami to Shoujo will get one because the company Takuyo is one of the most low-profile and it was on PSP. Glass Heart Princess was also PSP (yo Otomate, where's that Vita port with fandisc?!). BeastMaster & Prince got a Kickstarter but it looked dubious in hindsight. If I had to bet, IFI over Aksys, but we need to see if IFI pulls away from Hakuouki first.

And since you gave an honorable mention to Taisho Alice: I played it, I would recommend it although it's not perfect, and localization chances GUHHHHH. For better or worse no one has found anything about any English/Spanish Vol. VNDB could only list the games by rating ranking and the actual voting score didn’t appear on the list and you can only see it once you actually click inside the game which is too bad. Rating is affected by a lot of other things while voting score is just the average of all the votes.

25 Under the moon had a Loli protagonist so that’s probably why it’s not mentioned, probably only made the list because it’s a much older PC game that had a fan translated English trial version and fan translation full patch in Russian and Chinese or something. Ya the PSP games are lost cases and by this point, vita ports are very rare although still happening for some games. It would be nice if BeastMaster got picked up by Aksys or IFI.
